Shelf Shapes

68 products

Browse by shape: rectangles from 6 to 84 inches, corner shelves that fit a 90 degree angle, and small geometric shapes, squares, triangles, octagons, rhombuses, and trapezoids, at 3 to 6 inches. Solid oak and mahogany throughout, with walnut stain and paint-grade poplar on most listings.

Three families. Rectangles are the workhorses, 6 to 84 inches long with square or rounded corners. Corner shelves span a 90 degree inside angle with round, straight, or sculpted front edges. And the small geometric shapes, squares, triangles, octagons, rhombuses, and trapezoids, run 3 to 6 inches for single objects. All solid oak or mahogany.

One good thing per shelf is the idea: a small plant, a candle, keys, a watch, a ring dish, an air plant in a propagation tube. Each shape is 3 to 6 inches across, big enough for one object and small enough to hang anywhere, including the key hook versions that organize an entryway while they decorate it.

Into both walls. Each corner shelf floats on hidden brackets anchored into the two walls that form the corner, which is why a shelf this size sits so steady. Sizes run 12, 14, or 16 inches along each wall, and the front edge comes rounded, straight, or sculpted in three profiles. Nothing shows under the board.

The square, triangle, rhombus, and octagon run 3, 4, or 5 inches; the trapezoid runs 4, 5, or 6. Each comes in two thicknesses and mounts on a single hidden anchor: drill a quarter inch hole, twist the shelf on, and it sits flush. They sell singly or as a set of three shapes.

Stagger them. Three shapes climbing a wall diagonally is the classic arrangement, with 8 to 12 inches between shelves so each object reads on its own. Mixing shapes works when the wood matches; mixing woods works when the shape repeats. Start with a three-shape set and add singles as the wall fills in.
