Corner Shelf with Reversible Bracket Installation Instructions

These instructions cover our corner shelf with the reversible steel bracket. The bracket lag bolts into the corner studs, and the shelf screws down onto it. The bracket can be turned to a J or an L orientation, whichever you prefer. It is one of our corner shelves.

What is in the box

  • Shelf
  • Reversible steel bracket
  • Lag bolts
  • Screws

Tools you need

  • Drill, with 3/16 inch and 1/8 inch bits
  • Pencil
  • Socket wrench
  • Phillips head screwdriver

Installation steps

  1. Position the bracket. Hold the bracket in the corner where you want the shelf, in the J or L orientation you prefer, and pencil the four wall screw hole locations.
  2. Mount the bracket. Drill a 3/16 inch pilot hole at each of the four marks; you should be drilling into the wall studs. Fasten the bracket to the wall with the lag bolts using the socket wrench. Take care not to scratch the bracket or the paint on the bolt heads. If a bolt is hard to turn, widen its pilot hole slightly.
  3. Attach the shelf. Set the shelf on top of the bracket and mark the four screw hole locations on the underside of the shelf. Lift the shelf off, drill 1/8 inch pilot holes at the marks, then set it back and secure it to the bracket with the provided screws and a Phillips head screwdriver.
