About this piece

An arched backboard with a row of shaker pegs: the Arch is a wall mounted wooden coat rack in solid maple or oak, made in our Brooklyn woodshop.

Shaker pegs are the old answer to coats, hats, and bags: turned wood pegs that take a winter coat as easily as a tote. It comes with 2, 3, 4, or 6 pegs, from a strip beside the door up to a full mudroom wall.

Keyhole slots milled into the backboard hang it flush against the wall, with no visible hardware.

The Classic, with a rectangular backboard, is the straight-lined version of the same rack.

The Arch Coat Rack features a distinctive arched backboard silhouette, while the Classic Coat Rack has a clean rectangular backboard. Both are available in the same wood species, peg counts, and sizes.

How much weight can the Arch Coat Rack hold?

Each shaker peg on the Arch Coat Rack is solid hardwood and securely glued into the backboard, built to handle the daily weight of coats, bags, umbrellas, and accessories. When properly mounted into wall studs, the rack is designed for generations of heavy use.

The Arch Coat Rack is finished with a hand-applied oil-based finish that enhances the natural grain of the wood while protecting the surface. No paint or stains; just real beautiful hardwood.
