About this piece

An octagon wall shelf in solid oak, 3, 4, or 5 inches across in two thicknesses. Eight sides make a small frame around whatever sits on it: one plant, a candle, a figure from the shelf of things you actually like.

Like all our mini shapes, it mounts on one hidden anchor. Drill a quarter inch hole, twist the shelf on, and it sits flush and floating.

Also cut in mahogany, or in poplar for painting.

There is a version with a key hook underneath when the wall in question is beside the door.

Is this octagon shelf made of solid wood or veneer?

We use solid hardwood for all of our shelves. We never use MDF, veneer, or any other composite wood.

Can I use this octagon shelf for plants, trinkets, or books?

Yes, our mini shelf collection is ideal for a gallery wall, small shelf, or accent in living spaces. These small shelves are designed to house small décor, plants, candles, or other display items.

Does the octagon shelf come unfinished or with a finish?

On the listing, you can select "finished" or "unfinished." If you would like to apply your own custom stain or finish, select unfinished. If you would like NookWoodworking to apply a protective matte coat finish, select finished.

What style or décor does the octagon shelf fit?

The mini shelves are perfect for modern, minimalist, Scandinavian, bohemian, or mid-century spaces because of their geometric shapes and solid wood finish.

Are the edges of the octagon shelf rounded or sharp?

For a sophisticated appearance and safer handling, all of our small shelves feature soft beveled edges. If you would like sharp edges, please specify that in the Special Instructions section on the order.
