Recommended weight limit: ~30-60 lbs with drywall anchors, dependent on shelf size. The weight limit increases substantially when mounted in solid wood or studs.

Note: shelf, hidden steel brackets, anchors, and screws included in purchase. Anchor size: #8-10 x 3/8-1", depending on shelf size.

About this piece

A thin floating shelf with a grommet hole at the back: the cord drops through and runs down behind the shelf, so a speaker, charger, or router sits on the wall with no wire hanging in front. The hole comes drilled at 3/4 inch or specify if you would like a larger diameter hole.

The board is solid oak, 7/8 of an inch thick, in lengths from 6 to 36 inches and depths from 3 to 8, on a hidden bracket. Also cut in mahogany, maple, walnut stain, or poplar for painting.

Nightstand duty is its other life: phone on top, cord through the hole, outlet below.

What is the cord hole for?

The shelf has a drilled cable pass-through at the back. Set a device on top, drop the cord through, and the oak face stays uncluttered.

Is it only for devices?

No. Most days it is an ordinary thin oak shelf; the pass-through is there for the one device that needs it.

What makes this shelf “thin” and how does that affect depth and profile?

The 7/8 inch board keeps the shelf light on the wall, right for a router or small speaker rather than heavy storage.

What is the advantage of choosing this thinner profile compared to a thicker floating shelf?

A thin shelf keeps the focus on the device and the wall, not the board; the oak stays a slim line under a speaker.
