About this piece
This is the slim version of our oak floating shelf, 6 to 36 inches long and 3 to 8 inches deep. The proportions suit spice jars, paperbacks, plants, and framed photos. A single 6 inch shelf fits the spots nothing else does: between windows, above a light switch.
It is a thin floating shelf cut from a single piece of solid oak, on hidden brackets. It sits close to the wall and keeps a narrow line, which lets you stack two or three above each other without crowding a room.
Wood options run light to dark: oak, maple, mahogany, then mahogany with a walnut stain. Poplar is the paint-grade choice.
If you need longer or deeper, our thick shelf goes to 84 inches and 12 deep.
Installation Instructions
My shelf is exactly what I wanted. It arrived quickly, is a beautiful color, and is very well made. I would definitely order from this company again!
Beautiful color and invisible attachments to the wall. Love i! tJust be careful to install the drywall hooks / hardware really straight.
I ordered an unfinished shelf so I could paint it the same color as my walls. I wanted it to disappear so the small delicate sculpture I placed upon it would pop. The shelf is very high quality. And surprisingly easy to install. I love the way it looks!
Made the shelf that fit my needs exactly. Came ready to paint, which worked perfectly!
The wooden shelf is beautifully crafted! The brackets are well thought out and a super addition to my wall!
Is there a thicker oak shelf?
Yes. Our thick oak line is the same wood at 1 1/2 inches for bigger loads. This 7/8 inch shelf is the lighter, skinnier profile of the two.
What sizes do thin oak shelves come in?
The board is 7/8 inch thick, 6 to 36 inches long, and 3 to 8 inches deep. It is the narrow wood shelf of our line, sized for display rather than heavy storage. The same board also comes in maple, mahogany, or a walnut stain.
What fits on a narrow wood shelf?
Frames, plants, small ceramics, and paperbacks. A light oak floating shelf shows off what sits on it without the shelf itself taking over the wall.
Why pick light oak in a thin profile?
Light oak in a thin profile keeps walls bright. Where a thick shelf makes a statement, a 7/8 inch oak shelf blends in and lets the display carry the look.
Does it come finished or unfinished?
Both options. Finished oak gets a protective oil finish that keeps its light color; unfinished arrives sanded to 220 grit, ready to stain, paint, or leave raw.
