    What is a floating mantel shelf?

    A powder coated steel shelf that mounts over a fireplace with a low profile back support, giving you a clean mantel line without corbels or the bulk of a wood beam.

    How high above the fireplace should a mantel be mounted?

    Follow the clearance your fireplace manufacturer and local code specify; 12 inches above the firebox opening is a common minimum for many units. When in doubt, go higher.

    What sizes does it come in?

    The lengths and depths are listed on this page, and custom sizes are available. Measure your fireplace surround and size the mantel a few inches past it on each side.
